My '97 Savage was delivered recently, and it has 1,236 miles. Being a new owner, I thought I'd start with a clean slate and change the oil, the oil filter, and the air filter. The throttle response and acceleration are strong and smooth, with no hiccups or hesitation, so I'd say the plug is good. I decided to use Suzuki 20-50 oil, with a Suzuki oil filter. The air filter looks like new, but I'm going to back-flush it with compressed air anyway. I haven't experienced any backfiring at all, and I noticed the brass plug is gone from the mixture adjustment, and the screw was backed out about 3 turns. Maybe the original owner removed the white spacer, too!
